I love that my son gets so excited about recycling and helping the environment. He has me take him every Wednesday to the raleigh salvage auto center so that he can take in the aluminum cans to have them recycled. He collects aluminum cans not only from our house but also from the side of the streets while we go for walks. He saves them all and turns them in. He only goes on Wednesday because that is when Raleigh Junk Car gives an extra three cents for cans.
I know he is not going to save the world or anything like that, but is it not the sweetest gesture for him to do what most adults do not even do. He even had me call the trash company and have them bring us out some recycling containers. So now we can even recycle at home and help out even more.
